Without authenticity we are merely following trends, seeking attention and attempting to package expression in an acceptable format. Our world is saturated with content. More than ever, the challenge is to be authentic storytellers. As practitioners, once authenticity has been established, how do we nurture a space where this creative process does not become insular, but is instead, vibrant with possibility through collective inspiration...? Salon is a space that honours the creative process, using art and its making as a pathway for exploring our place in the world.

Jon is a contemporary abstract painter based in Cornwall. He trained in New York and Los Angeles under artist Makoto Fujimura. He will be speaking to us about a way of seeing art as a reflection of an “inner landscape” as much as it is the "outer world."
